You have probably overheard those long droning dialogues between two computer geniuses. These conversations can go on and on for hours about who has the most RAM and whose computer can do what, faster and better. You’ve probably even tuned these conversations out often enough, so that you don’t even know what RAM is. RAM is the brain of your computer. It’s the memory containing all the essentials to your computer’s survival, such as the operating system, programs, and any other functions your computer performs.
RAM is measured by MB or megabytes, and just how many MBs you might need depends on what you plan to use your computer for. A business will want to have the highest RAM possible, but an individual might be able to settle for a little bit less. It’s best to talk to one of the afore mentioned computer junkies about what might be best for you. They know what they’re talking about. Even though it might be a competition between them to race for the biggest RAM, they likely won’t include you in the scramble.
No matter what you choose, keep in mind that the more RAM available, the more your computer can do for you. More RAM equals faster and better service. It allows you to run more programs, store more documents and files and do more to have your computer work for you. So that even less frequent computer users might want to consider more RAM for their computers
